Air Conditioners – Good Or Bad For Health?

Posted: August 10th, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: Home Improvement Articles | Tags: , , | No Comments »

There has been a myth circulating in recent years that air conditioning is indisputably bad for your health, but it’s time for you to think again! If you make sure it is well serviced it will only help improve the air in your environment. Having a quality air conditioning system has mainly health benefits and air conditioner suppliers can offer specialised systems to meet your requirements.

Air conditioners play the important part of controlling humidity levels. As all of us know, a humid atmosphere is a breeding ground for the moulds, mites and dust which cause allergies. The beauty of having an air conditioner is it can control humidity levels so you have nice constant temperature. The benefit of this is it helps prevent allergies.

Another big benefit is of course ventilation which does help health. Mechanical ventilation is becoming vital for health because of changing construction technology. Air conditioning ensures fresh air, which in turn gives protection against sickness.

Only working out ventilation is not enough. You must also make sure that the air which you breathe is clean. Many proven brands such as Mitsubishi air conditioning and Denco air conditioning units are provided with an air filter. Filters play a crucial role in the air conditioner units, you will see a number of different filter types being used on machines. The main job of filters is cut down dust particles as well as bacteria. It even filters smoke and microbes. All this makes the air a lot cleaner for breathing. It is very important that the filter is cleaned regularly or replaced as if its not the quality of your filtered air will reduce.

It is very wrong to think that air conditioners will make you ill. This kind of thinking it just not true and if you do research on the subject you will see that research has proven this. It only serves you by providing clean and cool air, taking care of your health.

Tips for Relaxing the Keeping Cool This Summer

Posted: July 30th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Home Improvement Articles | Tags: , , , | No Comments »

Heating and Air Conditioning:

With summer in full swing, beating the increasingly hot heat is becoming a more difficult task. The type of heat that you get in the UK is very different to that abroad. Abroad the heat is more intense, however, back in the UK, it gets far more humid.

Obviously many people will want to get straight out into the sun to have fun, so having a break indoors can be nice and relaxing. But, just because your inside doesn’t mean it’s cool. So here’s some good tips for staying cool and relaxed at home.

Wear light clothing. This one is fairly obvious, dress light to ensure than your body doesn’t become too hot. You may get some stick for it, but it’s time to get the shorts out.

Make sure you drink lots of fluids. Keeping hydrated with lots of water will keep you cool and refreshed, however, don’t forget to drink juices because they supply sugar and minerals to keep your body going. A lot of your body’s minerals are lost via sweat so you need to replace these by drinking lots of fluids.

Use a dehumidifier. If you currently don’t have one, they are not too expensive, but they really do pay off. Dehumidifiers are used to remove water within the air to make the air around you less humid. It does this by using a thing called Silica gel, which despite the name, is a solid. Many appliances use this gel for absorbing water that’s in the air.

Don’t rush around, stay relaxed. Keeping yourself relaxed and in-active for the first few days of the hot weather is important because it allows your body to become accustomed to the heat. If you decide to get out into the sun straight away, you will become hot and tired faster than if you had relaxed beforehand.

These are just a few tips for helping to to keep cool during the hot summer days, although you don’t get many here in the UK.
